About Us

St. Peter’s Catholic School is comprised of St. Peter’s Montessori Preschool/Kindergarten, St. Peter’s Kindergarten, St. Peter’s Elementary School, St. Peter’s Junior High School, and St. Peter’s High School. These schools provide educational programs in a Catholic, Christian environment for students of Mansfield and surrounding communities.

St. Peter’s School, founded in 1868, strives to promote a Christian atmosphere in all phases of its programs. We are open to children of all creeds and races, and we continue to remain accessible to a wide range of socio-economic levels. By focusing on respect for one another, we foster an attitude of caring and concern for others regardless of cultural or religious background or special needs.

The school is an integral ministry of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Parish, Mansfield. In partnership with parents, we educate a diverse student community to:

  • Embrace life-long learning
  • Develop each student’s spiritual, physical, emotional and academic potential with charity, curiosity and courage
  • Contribute to the dignity of the individual and develop responsibility to our world family
  • Develop an understanding of the moral, social, economic and ethical issues that face humanity

St. Peter’s School achieves these goals by developing the individual in a balanced environment enhanced by discipline, care, and prayer.

Blue Ribbon Status

US Department of Education - National Blue Ribbon School

St. Peter’s is a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence winner

The Blue Ribbon Schools Program was established in 1982 to identify and recognize outstanding public and private schools across the nation. The program is administered by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Educational Research and Improvement.

Blue Ribbon Schools are chosen based on student focus and support; school organization and culture; challenging standards and curriculum; active teaching and learning; professional community; leadership and educational vitality; and school, family and community partnerships.

In June of 1997 and June of 1998, respectively, St. Peter’s Elementary/Junior High School and St. Peter’s High School were selected as Blue Ribbon Schools by the United States Department of Education. While proud of this achievement by our school, the mission remains constant: to provide an environment of academic excellence, spiritual challenges, and nurture the love of learning, self, and others.

The provision of a quality education is an expensive endeavor. However, St. Peter’s has made every effort to contain costs and continues to provide affordable instruction to the greatest number of families. Annual tuition costs are published in February for the following school year.

Four tuition payment options are available for families with students enrolled at St. Peter’s:

  1. Full prepayment by June 1 (2% discount)
  2. Full prepayment by August 1  (no discount)
  3. Payment through Smart Tuition

Tuition assistance is available to families who qualify for need through the Tuition Assistance Program. Also, Kroger, Meijer Community Rewards Card, Land’s End, and Scrip dollar-for-dollar gift certificate programs allow tuition reductions in the next school year based on a percentage of the dollar amount of certificates purchased.
