Parents — You now have a choice!

Parents living in North Central Ohio now have more options than ever before for their child’s education!

Application Period ReOpened!

The Ohio Department of Education will reopen the application period for both Traditional EdChoice and EdChoice Expansion on July 15, 2020.
Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

How does school choice work?

School Choice allows public education funds to follow students to the schools or services that best fit their needs. This includes private schools like St. Peter’s School, giving you the power to select the right school environment for your children.

  • If you child is currently assigned to an under-performing school in North Central Ohio (see list) you can apply for an Ohio EdChoice Scholarship to attend a faith-based school of your choice.
  • If your family’s household income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, you could be eligible for an Ohio EdChoice Expansion Scholarship. Income-based scholarships are available to all families regardless of what district they are assigned.
  • If your child is on an Individualized Education Program (IEP), he/she is likely able to qualify for a Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship.

How much is my child's scholarship?

The current EdChoice and EdChoice Expansion Scholarship amounts are: $4,650 for grades K-8 and $6,000 for grades 9-12.

The John Peterson Scholarship may provide up to $27,000 for tuition and services.

How do I get started?

The first step in learning if you qualify for an EdChoice Scholarship is to set up a meeting with our school principal. You child(ren) must meet St. Peter’s enrollment guidelines before you can apply for an Ohio EdChoice Scholarship. Our scholarship specialist will help guide you through the process.

Call the school at (419) 524-2572, x3100 for the High School/Junior High, x4100 Elementary and say you would like to learn more about sending your child(ren) to St. Peter’s School.
